THREE-PHASE INDUCTION ELECTRIC MOTORS WITH BUILT-IN ELECTROMAGNETIC BRAKE

Series T...CB three-phase induction electric motors sizes 56, 63, 71, 80, 90, 100, 112 and 132 with squirrel cage rotor and built-in electromagnetic brake type CB are designed to drive machines and mechanisms requiring quick stop after the power supply is switched off.

DESIGN

The electric motor and the brake are integrated into one unit. The electric motor is a standard induction electric machine that has an electromagnetic brake, consisting of electromagnet, anchor and braking system, perform­ing the role of fan as well, on the rear bearing shield of the motor. The electromagnet is supplied by a rectifier group, installed in the terminal box. The braking system and the fan are installed in the electric motor under a cover, made of steel sheet.

The frame is made of: aluminum alloy for electric motors sizes 56, 63, 71; aluminum alloy or cast iron for electric motors sizes 80, 90, 100 and 112, cast iron for electric motors size 132.

The front beaming shield   is made of: aluminum alloy for electric motors sizes 56, 63, 71, 80, 90, 100 and 112; or cast iron for electric motors sizes 80 through 132.

The back beaming shields are made of cast iron for all sizes of electric motors.

The back bearing is fixed both to the shield and to the shaft. A spacing ring that is located in the front bearing shield compensates the bearings axial clearance.

The fan cover is made of steel sheet, and the fan is made of plastics.

The terminal box is located on top of the frame and the rectifier is installed in it.

SUPPLY VOLTAGE AND FREQUENCY

The supply voltage of the electric motors is 230/400Vconnection  Δ/Y and the frequency is 50Hz.

The electric motors can also be designed for voltages from 220V up to 400V connection Δ and up to 690V connection Y, as well as for frequency 60Hz. The supply voltage of the rectifying module is from 200V up to 400V.The rectified voltage of the electromagnet is from 100V to 200V.

The supply voltage deviation is ± 5%, and the frequency deviation ± 2% (zone A), as per EN 60034-1.

Degree of Protection - The degree of protection of the electric motors is IP54 or IP55, and, that of the brake - IP40, as per EN60034-5.

Duty - S1; S2; S3 or S4 - 60% up to 120 switchings on per hour for the two-pole electric motors; from S1 through S4 - 40% up to 120 switchings on per hour for the two-speed electric motors of 4/2 poles S1; S2\ S3 or S4 - 60% up to 240 switchings on per hour for the remaining poles, as per EN60034-1.

Inertia Ratio - 3 OPERATING CONDITIONS

Moderate climatic area at temperatures from -25°C up to +40°C and altitude up to 1000 m.

In the enclosed tables the static break torque is given with two performance alternatives - a big and a small torque, as per the requirement of the customer. Two types of braking could be performed in accordance with the connection diagram and they depend on the speed of setting the brake in operation, as follows:

- Normal braking - the a.c. power supply of the brake is switched off at one and the same time with the power supply of the electric motor;

- Quick braking - the d.c. power supply of the brake is switched off at one and the same time with the power supply of the electric motor.
